The 23 Best TV Shows of 2022: The Real Housewives of Potomac
The Real Housewives of Potomac (Bravo)
Many (rightfully) believe that Bravo’s iconic Real Housewives franchise may be in its flop era. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills dragged on too long and got too dark. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has too few cast members (one of which, recently pled guilty to felony conspiracy fraud) and too many “friends of” named Angie. And, well, The Real Housewives of New York as we know it is no longer with us. In this dark time for Housewives fans, The Real Housewives of Potomac has emerged as the one true hope of the franchise, a glimmering light, a salve for Bravo fans everywhere. This season is truly firing on all cylinders. It has surprising friendships (who would have ever guessed frenemies Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger would one day choose to hang out together?). There's legitimate dinner table drama (Doctor Wendy Osefo vs. the completely daffy Mia Thorton in Miami was one for the record books). The family conflict is off the charts thanks to newly-separated Ashley Darby and trying-to-get-remarried-to-her-ex-husband, Robyn Dixon. And it’s been a star-making season for the effortlessly hilarious and incredibly sharp Candiace “Where is Eric?” Dillard-Bassett. In its seventh season, the women of RHOP have cemented themselves as one of the all-time great Housewives casts, and serve as a much needed reminder of why we even watch Bravo in the first place.
